How to use reusable beeswax wraps

Either because you have just discovered them (welcome!) Or have been using them for a long time but are looking for some inspiration, in this article I share some ideas on how to use reusable beeswax wraps that may be practical for you.

Beeswax wraps are an excellent alternative to plastic wrap and aluminum foil, with them you can reduce waste in your kitchen, in addition to saving money to your pocket. And it goes without saying the huge favor you do the planet by saving it from more single-use plastic wandering around! (and by this I mean wandering around and ending up in the ocean).

Although I have been using eco-friendly packaging for some time, I continue to find new uses for it. I’ve also been inspired by customers who share original and creative ways in which they use their reusable wraps in their kitchens, homes, and beyond.

Classic uses for your ecological beeswax wraps

Fruits and veggies can be wrapped easily and in a thousand ways, preventing them from coming into contact with materials made by harmful ingredients such as plastics with BPA y BPS. Being naturally sticky and flexible, you will create kind of a second skin for your veggies, keeping their qualities intact for longer. With the Essential Pack you have three sizes included

Reusable sandwich wrap

Have you thought how much plastic or silver foil you use per week to take your sandwich when you go to school or the office? And per year? It’s a lot! This option is not only much better for the environment but also for your budget. If you have also taken cutlery, wrap it after use to wash at home without dirtying your bag or backpack. Here a super easy tutorial.

Create an ecological envelope or bag

Reusable beeswax wraps are also great to make an envelope shap bag to transport snacks when we leave the house. Here a  tutorial  to try, especially recommended for the size of medium wrap.

Take your reusable wraps on a trip!

Do you use solid soap and shampoo? That’s great! Just for this reason you are already doing a lot for the environment. If you haven’t tried them yet, I recommend you give them a chance! Anyway, I´m sure you have a toothbrush that you want to bring with you, wrap it in a small package safe from dirt.

Covers glass bottles and jars

Although in my case it is the other way around and instead of losing the lids I usually break the jars (I am clumsy by nature!) You can cover your glass jars or your bottles in an almost airtight way. They adapt to any size and are ideal for covering ferments such as kefir.

Use your wraps as a funnel

Improvise a funnel to store your nuts, flours and other bulk foods in their containers, they do not need to be washed, just wipe them with a damp cloth if there is any trace left.

Finally my favorite one!

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing recipes and although I sometimes take a long time to cook, I often do it in a hurry and choose to use ingredients that come ready to use in glass jars. One of the tricks that I use the most with my beeswax wrap is to uncover these rebellious jars, I just put it on top of the lid and twist with strength.

What do you think of all these uses? Surely you know more or you will discover them over time, you can leave us your comments and suggestions down below so that we can test them. Do not forget to check our section of tutorials with videos, tips and techniques for wrapping.
